One will lead to the dissillusionment of reason, the other the dissillusionment of objectivity. A poor corner in which philosophy finds itself in the modern time. Eithor we posit a way out or philosophy, human nature, mankind, morality, reason, truth, etc are all chaff in the wind of time. It used to be common habit to posit a be which is formless and infinitely free. This is God - not man who is rightfully denoted as an image.
