The emergence of reflective consciousness, that is to say: phenomenal self consciousness and/or rational consciousness, is predicated entirely on a distinct movement of the will, which is by definition: that thing which is not itself, that is free.
1) Reason is contingent upon freely willing to assent to its domain
2) Identity is contingent on our freely willing to have such
3) Levels of vulnerability necessary for co-extension with the world and divine require a movement to will below, be it imperceptibly minute or forcefully prolonged.
